Leland graduated from Birmingham Southern College in 1980 with a BA in Accounting. He worked for Stockham Valves and Fittings in Birmingham as an auditor and controller for several subsidiary companies. He is currently working for SouthTrust Bank in Birmingham as the audit manager for the Commercial Finance Department.
